Easter Holiday Activities

It's been another fun packed week for the children and young people that have got involved with the Voice Team's Easter holiday programme. Following the successful Eid party, we ended last week with a circus session where young people learnt juggling, diablo and other skills.
This week saw the first Great Sandwell Bake Off where young people learned cooking skills as they made pizzas with healthy toppings, but the highlight so far has been a trip to Warrens Hall Riding School where 18 of our young people went horse riding.
For most of them it was their first time, but everyone loved it. One of our young people has been riding for a few years and enjoyed showing off her skills and helping the others. As well as riding, everyone got involved in grooming and feeding the horses and colouring in pictures of horses in the activity room.
Young People from the Forum for Independent Young Adults (FIYA) met with two members of the council's Scrutiny Board on Wednesday where they talked through the work they are doing to bring the guide to Working Together to life and shared their experiences of the care system.
The final activity of the week involves a group of children and young people experiencing an archery and axe throwing session at Primal Mastery in Wolverhampton.
