House Project 2 launch

The House Project launch for cohort 2 took place at Metsec this afternoon and there was an exciting buzz in the room.
The session started with presentations where the team spoke about the positive experiences of cohort 1.
Kelly Mottram, National House Project Practice Lead gave a positive endorsement of the work undertaken to establish the House Project in Sandwell and the work completed with cohort 1.
External businesses who have supported the programme were also in attendance. This included GES, Wienerberger and Equans. They pledged their support for cohort 2 which is good news for everyone involved.
There was an opportunity for young people to talk to staff and colleagues who explained the positive opportunities available to them, which resulted in many of them completing expression of interest forms to be involved in cohort 2.
We were unable to share some exciting news at the launch as it was embargoed – however, we can now share that our House Project Team have been successfully shortlisted for this year's National Local Government Chronicle Investment Awards for 'Small team of the year'.
The House Project Team need to present to a judging panel in London on 3 April and if successful, will be attending the awards ceremony at Grosvenor House on 11 June which is a premier event in the Local Government calendar.
We are proud of the work of the team. The recognition to be shortlisted is a success itself and shows the national impact of the House Project.
