Voices Heard Fun Day

On Wednesday we held our annual Voices Heard event for the children we care for and their carers. It was a great day, filled with fun activities, food and celebrations, and the weather was kind to us despite a very wet start to the day.
One of our care experienced young people took to the stage with Raj from the Voice Team to open the event. He shared how he has managed to secure a place at Oxford University in September.
Some of our separated young people were handed certificates for completing their ESOL exams and were praised for all their hard work in achieving their qualifications.
There were lots of activities for our children and young people to enjoy throughout the day. Outside were the ever-popular inflatables…this year we had slides, bouncy castles, plus other games that everyone could enjoy.
The climbing wall returned, and it was wonderful to see so many people take on the challenge. Younger children had their own space to play, while others explored creative activities like henna, hair styling, face painting, and arts and crafts.
Zoo 2 U gave everyone the chance to see a variety of animals, including a skunk, pigmy hedgehog, a miniature owl and giant cockroaches. The African drumming session from Primal Sounds was a new experience that brought people together in a fun and interactive way.
We were joined by a range of partners who provided information and advice to our families, and it was good to see so many people coming together to share how they can support our children.
